Teresa’s curious and observant nature led her to helping others focus and improve their lives, whether on the inside as a hypnotherapist or on the outside as a professional organizer/clutter consultant. She treasures being a part of clearing what is in the way of happiness.
Teresa is also fascinated by storytelling and intrigued by human behavior. Why do we say one thing and yet do another? Ever said, “That was so out of character, why did I do that?” Why? Because we are fascinating human creatures. We all have a path we are on. If we wish to alter that path, we need to use the subconscious mind as the tool for change.
Teresa has spent much of her life as an actor, dissecting characters and bringing them to life. Becoming a hypnotherapist (behavioral therapist) was not far off the path she was on. She is a detective, looking for clues in your subconscious mind, listening between the lines, and observing as you share your story to unlock the source of undesirable habits, behaviors, anxiety, or stress and shining a light on your darkness. Hypnotic tools and therapeutic guided imagery journeys will empower you to visualize your future where you will see what needs to change in the present to achieve your goals.

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a focused state of awareness that bypasses the conscious and critical mind and accesses the subconscious mind so we can make positive changes to our lives.

Hypnosis is a natural state that we enter throughout each day. It is nothing new. Hypnosis is triggered by overload in our environment–social interactions, anxiety, joy, losing ourselves in a great film or novel. It can be a mesmerizing, day-dreaming quality or just plain spacing out, like when we are driving on the freeway and miss our exit or pull into the driveway and think “I don’t even remember driving home.” In other words, your subconscious mind takes the wheel and puts you on autopilot. We also put ourselves in a state of hypnosis daily, especially the 30 minutes before sleep and the 30 minutes after waking up.

What is the difference between Meditation & Hypnosis?
The simplest answer is hypnosis is meditation with a goal. Instead of just clearing the conscious mind, we fill the subconscious mind with positive new thoughts and focus on a desired goal or change.

Why Hypnosis?
Humans are wired for homeostasis--the unconscious drive to “stay the same” and resist change at a subconscious level. While we may desire a change in our feelings, reactions, or habits, at a deeper level, our subconscious defense mechanisms seek to preserve the status quo, to keep us safe for survival, and to resist efforts to change.
Communication between the conscious and subconscious mind is the shortest route to positive change and transformation. If we want to make a shift, break a habit, conquer a fear or phobia, establish a boundary, gain confidence or courage, or remove a block to success, hypnosis is a very effective and powerful tool.

What to Expect?
Hypnosis sessions are one hour, the first half being a cognitive conversation and the second half hypnosis. You will receive tools to support your transformation and an audio recording of the hypnosis to listen to for greater success. You will leave the session feeling calm, relaxed, and hopeful so that you can begin to create positive change using the power of your conscious and subconscious mind.

Do I Need a Referral?
California Business & Professions Code Section 2908 says hypnotic techniques can be used to offer avocational or vocational self-improvement. Hypnotherapists are not allowed to offer therapy for emotional or mental disorders or treat a medical condition unless they have a referral from persons licensed to practice medicine, dentistry, or psychology.

Teresa trained and graduated with honors from Hypnosis Motivational Institute, the nation's first nationally accredited college for hypnotherapy.
She is also a member of the Hypnotherapist Union Local 472 and American Hypnosis Association.
